Traveling Through a Network

Ping & Traceroute

When you use ping, it shows you how fast you can access a website, from your location to another. Pings trace multiple internet routers to see how far they can reach their network. Ping can help test how it can reach another network's address. Ping is utilized to check any network issues.

Traceroute gives a more explanation of how it reaches all of the other routers. Traceroute traces the router taken by packets from a source to a destination. Which reveals the IP addresses of intermediate devices and the corresponding round trip (RTT) for each trip. Traceroute can be used as a diagnostic tool, such as packet capture, which analyzes data.

Ping and Traceroute can both be used to check internet connections because they can give a clear knowledge of what is working and what is timing out. It can be used as a troubleshooting tool. It also can show if your internet is going fast or if it's running slow. It can also show you the failures that were not connecting. Both of them are useful tools to use when you want to check your network connections and your computer and see if they are running properly. I would say utilize both and see which one fits best with your solution.
